日前，經(jīng)過全世界提名和五輪嚴(yán)格評(píng)選，林同棪國(guó)際（中國(guó)）董事長(zhǎng)鄧文中院士當(dāng)選愛丁堡皇家學(xué)會(huì)外籍院士。5月14日，鄧文中院士出席入會(huì)儀式，并受到愛丁堡皇家學(xué)院院長(zhǎng)安妮格洛弗頒發(fā)證書。
Recently, after worldwide nominations and five rounds of rigorous selection, Man-Chung Tang, Chairman of the Board, T. Y. Lin International (China), was elected as a Corresponding Fellow (foreign member) of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. On Monday, 14th May, 2018 the new Fellows elected to the RSE in 2018 attended the Induction Ceremony and were welcomed to the Fellowship by RSE President, Professor Dame Anne Glover.
第二天，5月15日，鄧文中院士還獲頒了2018年第17屆歐洲橋梁會(huì)議的“終身成就獎(jiǎng)”。
該獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)在愛丁堡市政廳由愛丁堡市的貝利，諾曼．沃克先生頒發(fā)。注：愛丁堡市的貝利是蘇格蘭地方政府的民官。相當(dāng)于市長(zhǎng)老或地方法官的職位。
The next day, 15th May, 2018, Dr. Tang also received a "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the 17th European Bridge Conference 2018" in Edinburgh.
The award was presented by the Baillie of the City of Edinburgh, Mr. Norman Work at the City Hall of Edinburgh. The Baillie is a civic officer in the local government of Scotland, a post similar to that of an alderman or magistrate.
鄧文中是林同棪國(guó)際（中國(guó)）董事長(zhǎng)，林同棪國(guó)際是一家國(guó)際知名咨詢工程公司，總部設(shè)在美國(guó)舊金山。他本人是一位結(jié)構(gòu)工程師，在世界不同地區(qū)設(shè)計(jì)了100多座大橋，因此獲得“太陽永遠(yuǎn)照在他的橋上！”的稱號(hào)！他是美國(guó)國(guó)家工程院院士和中國(guó)工程院外藉院士。他是工學(xué)博士，并獲頌了名譽(yù)工學(xué)博士，名譽(yù)文學(xué)博士和名譽(yù)建筑師等榮譽(yù)學(xué)位。他是13所大學(xué)的榮譽(yù)教授。
Dr. Man-Chung Tang is the Chairman of the Board of T.Y. Lin International (China), a consulting engineering firm with headquarters in San Francisco. He is a structural engineer and has designed over 100 major bridges in different parts of the world, hence the motto “the Sun never sets on his bridges!” He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering and a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has been awarded honorary degrees of Doctor of Engineering, Doctor of Literature and in Architecture. He is an Honorary Professor of 13 universities.
